Some time ago I set a background colour to a quote block and to standard paragraph blocks.

I can still set background colours and text colours to standard blocks but now there does not seem to be any way to add a background colour or a text colour to Quote blocks (at least not without some additional CSS).

Note, the colour I introduced to the quote block that is near the top of the home page of FlyingTwigs is still there – so the code that inserted it has persisted.

Was this ability to add background colours taken out of Quote blocks on purpose or was it overlooked?

If on purpose, why was it taken out? I found it very useful to style text.

Quote blocks have never had those color settings, as far as I know. They should, I agree, but that functionality wasn’t ever there as far as I can see.

The blockquote you have that says “Choose these gorgeous, high-quality greeting cards” gets that gray background color from a rule in this CSS file: https://www.flyingtwigs.com/min/26626.css

If it was actually coming from the editor, then the background color would be inline, not in a separate CSS file. Notice how the editor adds the inline styles to the paragraph blocks towards the bottom of the page. That’s how those various styles work, generally speaking. Inline styles, not in a centralized CSS file.

    Thanks,
My mistake then – I thought I did it that way – thank you for the explanation.

By the way, I posted the question here again because I kept getting an ‘Oops, that page doesn’t exist’ when I clicked my post – so if you see more than one attempt to post it, that’s why.
