I encountered a problem that after uploading a PDF file to the WordPress media library, the colors in the thumbnails generated for media library and for Woocommerce pages are heavily distorted compared to the original file and are displayed in the same distorted colors on the site pages. The original PDF file itself is displayed correctly.

Could anybody help me to solve this?

    Hello

I guess this problem may be created by CSS override, Could you please deactivate all plugins from your site and activate a default WordPress theme, and then check the pdf file, here is the one

Also, you may try to uninstall your browser’s extensions to check if they’re conflicting.

    Hi!

Installed the fresh WordPress 6.11 without plugins and uploaded the same PDF as in the first screenshot.
Then did a comparison in 4 different browsers:

    Have a look

So I wonder why Firefox, Chrome and Sidekick show it wrong and only Safari display more or less acceptable variant.

    Any thoughts?

And I found a solution. My PDF files were created with the CMYK color profile. After saving them in the sRGB profile, everything is correct.

You can check which profile your file is saved in by opening PDF in a text editor and searching for the words CMYK or RGB.

After that you should use an online service like PDF-to-RGB or your Adobe Illustrator to modify the color profile

    Okay

Thanks to you for sharing your experiments.
