I am a Washington state based business. WooCommerce Shipping & Tax is doing a great job of adding sales tax when orders are shipped to Washington addresses; however, it has just started adding sale tax to orders shipped to Colorado address. It looks like Colorado requires sales tax be collected by out of state businesses with annual sales into Colorado that exceed $100,000. My sales are way below that threshold, is it possible to turn off sales tax for sales to Colorado?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @bgage!

    Thank you for reaching out.

is it possible to turn off sales tax for sales to Colorado?

Yes, it is! It will depend on your tax setup.

You can do this by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Standard Rates and checking if you already have a tax row for Colorado. If you do, you can assign a tax rate of 0%.

If you don’t have a tax row for Colorado, insert a new one and assign a tax rate of 0%.

It should look something like this:

Once you do this, when a customer enters a Colorado billing address, it will charge no taxes at checkout.

Check more about setting up tax rates here:

    I hope this helps.

Let us know how it goes for you!
