Color Change on Hover….for SVG: Possible?

Hiya. I’m attempting to animate a portion of an SVG — a center point in an image. The animation I want to achieve: change that one area inside the SVG’s display to become a different color. I’m using the SVG as a clickable object…basically using it like a button to get to another area on my website.

Is this possible? If so, what code do I need to use? I don’t see any options for color changes. Thanks in advance for all your help!
