Colleague blacklisted despite whitelisting

My colleague is unable to login to our WP site – she gets a blank screen with a pink bar across it containing the words “Your IP 50.80.###.### has been blacklisted!”. Can I assume that is your message?
Anyhow, I have whitelisted that IP, but it did not help. What is wrong, please?
