    Hi,

I’m having trouble with a collapsed table, redirection_404.

So far, repair attempts have been unsuccessful. Do you have a remedy for this.

Plugin version 3.2.1, hosting Deeply Digital, PHP 5.6.34

    Thanks!

    What is the error?

    Sorry for the delay,

I exported the settings, uninstalled the plugin, installed it again, imported the settings, and it worked for a few days.

It has again collapsed, but I only know it because I can’t get a backup with WorpDrive/iControlWP. It normally works fine, but recently stopped with this message –

What Failed – Backup For Site: GlobalWrites
Reason For Failure – One or more of your database tables have crashed and need to be repaired.
Date and Time Of Last Failure – 2018/03/26 06:45

So, the site itself is not showing an error; is there a log for the plugin I can send you?

Here is this from the database –

    #144 – Table
‘./globalwr_gnuone1/glo_redirection_404’ is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed

I don’t know if this is anything to do with the plugin itself. It’s a MySQL error, and there’s nothing I can suggest you do in the plugin other than try and repair the table through MySQL.

I in part agree, but it’s hard to believe it’s just be a coincidence that it was a table this plugin creates. The only table that collapsed, and did it twice.

    thanks anyway.

Yep, it’s a strange coincidence. Saying that, a client of MySQL shouldn’t be able to crash a table no matter what happens – this would be a big problem. I’ve not seen any pattern of this happening for other people that use Redirection, pretty much since the plugin was created, so I’m fairly sure it’s a local MySQL issue – maybe the disk is corrupt, or something like that.

After getting advice from my local WP community, I’ve turned off logging. So far, it seems to be working.

Thanks for the info. If it does happen again, I’ll follow up with the host. If it’s not logging 404 errors, the table should remain empty and wouldn’t collapse unless like you said, the disk is corrupt or something.
