    Hello,

I’m not quite sure how to explain this, so here’s a bit of background.

The site I’m wanting to use this on has some LONG comment threads on some posts, which are getting unwieldy.

    Is it possible to:

    1. collapse the back-and-forth replies under a certain comment, or
    2. collapse the whole whack of comments into fixed-size chunks, i.e. “Read next 20”, then at the end of that block, another “Read next 20”, or
    3. collapse by year of comment, i.e. “Click for 2016”, “Click for 2015”, etc.?

The comments are so long that collapsing and expanding it in its entirety doesn’t help much.

    Does that make sense?

    Hello,

Yes, what you are asking makes sense, but no, this is not something you can do with collapse-o-matic. However what you want to investigate would be lazy-load comments:

Hope that helps get you pointed in the right direction.

    Thanks, twinpictures!

The lazy load plugin didn’t work (it was all or nothing due to some conflict with another plugin), but I found one that will show/hide with a “load more” link to it. Pretty basic, but better than trying to load them all up front.

    Thanks again!

Glad you got a solution–even if it’s not related to our plugin.
    Happy pressing of the word.
    Issue marked as resolved.
