Think I’ve cracked the reason – things that come to you while doing the washing up! It’s the tag=”h3″. Remove that and the arrow moves where I want it.

Would still be interested if you have any suggestions. I would really like to use larger heading fonts but that probably means getting into the css something I have so far always managed to avoid.

This is a bit tricky, since H3 elements usually are 100% in width.
if you want to use H3 and have the arrows to the right, you will have to manually set the width of each H3 element to move place the arrow correct.

Sadly this means you will need to create a custom css style for each size… and this will be quite a pain. Here is an article that explains more about this:

Baden, Apologies for not getting back sooner. Thanks for confirming what the problem is, I think it’s not worth all the tinkering around so I’ll either leave the arrows off which is how I have set it for the present or, if people cannot work out they need to click on a heading to expand it, I’ll put it back on the left. Thanks for the advice.

(Now just need to get someone to look at my problem with wordpress menus post 4.2.2. That’s the problem with a volunteer support force: if nobody replies you’re stuck!)

We feel your pain. We try to offer at least some level of support for our free stuff… if for no other reason than good community karma. Good luck, and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. In the meantime we’ll mark this issue as resolved.
