Collapse fields group by default

Is it possible to collapse a fields group by default?
-
Hi Victor,
Upon adding the group element, the “Make this group collapsible” option is enabled by default, so indeed, it is feasible. https://prnt.sc/-s6sj4RXDTCl
You can refer to our documentation via the following link, which I believe will be helpful: Documentation Link

Hi Lisa ??
I think I have not explained well.
I know that groups can be made collapsible but my question is, if once I choose that option, instead of appearing open by default, it can be made to appear collapsed by default.
Thank you!

Hi Victor,
Thank you for the clarification.
Unfortunately, achieving this through the settings isn’t possible. However, it’s a great idea, and your feedback is invaluable for improving our product.
We’re keen on adding such improvements. Could you please provide more insight into the situations where this functionality might be useful?
Regards
Lisa
Hi Lisa ??
Yep, I know that this option does not appear in the settings as I have read in your online documentation.
That’s why I was wondering if a function could be added to the child theme’s functions.php file to achieve this ??
Why does this option seem interesting to me?
In my case, it will be a form with many sections with many fields each that I would like to occupy as little as possible when you enter the page for the first time. Then user can uncollapse through as progress completing the form.
Another interesting thing would be that the fields within a group could be conditional since I also have seen in your video at youtube that it is not possible —by the way, an impressive video, complete, clear and detailed, congratulations!—. I understand that it is somewhat complex because otherwise you would have already done it, but I see that it is really a big limitation for complex forms, like mine.
I hope these contributions are interesting for your development team.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share it with you.
Regards
Hello Victor!
I appreciate your thorough explanation and input regarding enabling the “Make this group collapsible” option and having groups collapsed by default. Your insights will certainly aid us.
Regarding the potential for conditional fields within a group, we do have plans to implement this feature in the future.
As for the functions.php file, I regret to inform you that you’re unable to incorporate modifications for plugin functionality directly within it. Such adjustments need to be made within the plugin code itself. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer assistance with plugin code modifications, as it falls outside of our area of expertise and support scope.
Best regards,
LisaHi Lisa ??
Understood.
Good news is that in the future group fields can be conditional. It will be a big improvement, I think.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
Best regards!
Hello there!
You are most welcome and your feedback is always appreciated and incredibly valuable to our team.
Best regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa
Thanks!
Best regards
The pleasure is mine ??
Hi, to clarify … conditionals on groups itself would be good, even more interesting would be conditionals on children elements INSIDE the group (the same they have without being in a group). Even if limited to other children in the group.
I′m missing this feature very much.
Right now groups are an important aid for structurizing your calculator. Big disadvantage is that you have to decide to use conditions OR to make it beautiful. In the end, in complex calculators, you need a condition on nearly every element. Group-Styling gets lost at this moment.
Oh, and i am absolutely seconding Victors idea to have the option to have groups closed at the start.
Hello @holle75,
I understand how important it is to have conditions within groups, especially when working with complex calculators. Many users, like yourself, have highlighted the need for applying conditions to group elements.
I’m pleased to inform you that our development team has already received a lot of feedback regarding these features and is actively working on implementing them.
Thank you for your valuable input!
Kind regards,
