    Hi
For an e-commerce site with more than 100 categories (and about ten subcategories each time) I am desperately looking for a plugin to collapse product categories in the sidebar (display it as tree).
I’m very surprised that it’s not a default feature in WC or builders like Elementor etc.
    Thanks for your help !

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you’re looking for a plugin to collapse product categories in the sidebar and display them as a tree structure. While it’s true that this functionality isn’t included by default in WooCommerce, there are several plugins available that can help you achieve this.

I did some research and found this article could be a good starting point: Best WooCommerce Category Accordion Plugins – 2023 – Premium

    Hope this helps!

I hadn’t thought to do a search for “accordion”, thank you very much!

I need to display “Products Categories” tree in the backend when I am adding a NEW Product.

To be more specific, my site has thousands of products sorted into hundreds of categories and sub categories.

So when I add a new product, I am having a hard time finding the proper “product category”for it from the list.

If categories are listed by Parent with a [+] to the right of it to expand and show the Subcategories (and if there a third, fourth tier sub-categories) ad [+] to expand and dig deeper to show more.

    For Example:

    Product Categories:
    All Categories
    [??] Clothes [-]

    [??] Men Clothes [-]

    [] Suits [+]

    [] Pants [+]

    [] Women Clothes [+]
    [] Kids Clothes [+]

    [] Home & Garden [+]
    [] Electronics [+]
    [] Furniture [+]

I am using Flatsome Theme just in case you ask.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi @atoweb

I understand that you’re looking for a way to better navigate your product categories and subcategories when adding a new product to your WooCommerce store. This can indeed become quite a challenge when dealing with numerous categories.

When adding a new product, WooCommerce does provide a hierarchical view of product categories in the backend. This view allows you to see parent categories and their corresponding subcategories, which should make it easier for you to sort your products. Here’s how you can see it:

    1. From your WordPress dashboard → click on ProductsAdd New.
    2. On the right-hand side, it has a box titled “Product Categories”, which displays all your categories in a hierarchical format. Categories will be listed with their subcategories nested beneath them.
    3. To assign a product to a category, simply check the box next to the appropriate category or subcategory.

If you have multiple levels of subcategories (i.e., a third, fourth tier, etc.), they will also be displayed in this hierarchical format. You can also expand and collapse these categories.

On the other hand, since this thread is “Resolved”, I recommend starting a new topic.

    I hope it helps!
