• Hi,

I have this message showing up

“Code Embed: Cannot use CODE1 as a global code as it is being used to store 2 unique pieces of code in 5 posts – click here for more details”

I have deleted the code from the other posts, but somehow it now considers the empty code, a code in itself. What can I do?

    Thank you,

    Friederik

    Hi @elvyne963,

    When you say…

I have deleted the code from the other posts

…how did you actually delete them? When viewing the code in the custom fields box, there should be a delete button underneath each – you need to make sure you use this and then update the post. If you clear out the box instead, this probably won’t work.

If you have used the delete button then go into Tools -> Code Search and look for CODE1 – it will list all the posts that it believes are using the code. Go into custom fields for each and see what you can find.

    Hi thx for the reply.

I have tried looking for the delete button but couldn’t find it. Here is a printscreen

I ended deleting and completely and re-writing the article which had the ”undeleted” code, and it fixed my problem.

Today, I created a new code custom field, and this time I didn’t even write anything in them (aside from in one post) and the same error came up, and it was saying that the other pages (which the custom field was appearing in) had different codes in them, even though I didn’t write anything, the simple fact that it remained empty created the same problem (having different codes). So to fix the problem I copy pasted the new code in all the other custom field to make it the same.

I realise as I write this, that it makes sense that this bugs shows up, since it is true that having an empty code, is different than having any code. I guess I’ll just always make sure the custom field show in only the post/pages I intend to use it in.

    Hi @elvyne963,

I can’t see that screenshot – are you able to provide a correct link so I can see what the issue is? You should have an option in the custom fields to be able to delete them.
