code view with gutenberg

code view in the gutenberg editor is very narrow making it very difficult to use, this needs to be addressed ASAP as I use a lot of custom objects that I prefer to paste into articles instead of being coddled by some useless style that is inconsistent with the way I have been doing things since the get go
