    Is it possible for me to add code into my Word Press site to make it mobile-friendly, rather than use a plug-in?

    If you’re knowledgeable with CSS, yes.

    It’s easiest to use a theme that is mobile friendly, second use a plugin, and if you know what you’re doing you can use CSS media queries in your style sheet. This is something you’d definitely want to use a child theme for though.

    Thank you Matt. I suspected it would be more complicated than just adding a line of code.
