• Hello,

My issue is with the code tags used to preserve newlines. If I switch to the Visual Editor from the Text Editor then immediately update, code tags are added around every comment and newline. If I repeat this process a second time, it forces everything onto one line that wraps when it hits the edge of the editor.

I am using SiteOrigin Page Builder so there are bound to be some issues, however I wanted to check if anyone knew a work around, or a way to just completely remove the comment and newline preservation. (Might as well, if the newlines aren’t being preserved in the end anyways)

    Thanks

This probably is not going to work with page builder plugins like that.

Just a heads-up that I get the same issue. I am using Divi theme, which has a page builder. Preserved HTML Editor Markup Plus throws lots of “code” tags in around all textual content, eventually making a total mess of it. End result is that text has all sorts of misplaced pre and post spacing around.
So I agree with J-Ro… looks like his plug-in isn’t compatible with page builders. Although I can’t immediately think why not, as they simply use the standard WP editor, except that they make use of multiple instances if there is more than one text element in the builder layout.

The issue is basically as you’ve stated it — this editor preserves markup by adding extra tags where it needs to. So, that’s going to cause some issues.
