Question – what part of Jetpack causes embeddable codes to get stripped? Like a javascript video code?

I’m writing a post in HTML trying to embed some code – and each time I hit “save” it strip some out.

    1. How can I get the code to stay (unstripped)? Is there a setting?
    2. Otherwise – is there some additional code I can put before and after to ensure it stays?

    Thanks

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack itself won’t do this on you site, unless the Video code is a supported Jetpack Shortcode:
    https://jetpack.com/support/shortcode-embeds/

If that’s the case, the JavaScript code will be replaced by a shortcode that should display the video quite nicely on your site.

If the code is just replaced, it could be because you’re not allowed to insert unfiltered HTML and JavaScript on your site. For example, if you’re an editor or a site admin on a multisite network, you won’t have the unfiltered_html capability that allows single site admins and multisite super admins to insert any JavaScript on a page.

In this case, I’m afraid I can only recommend that you contact your site admin or your super admin and ask them if they could allow you to insert unfiltered HTML.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks – I never knew that authors or contributors (non-Admins) had their code stripped like that.

I’ll give that a shot – much appreciated – even though it may not have been directly related to JetPack! Kudos!
