code not displaying properly in syntax highlighter block

I’m editing a previous post and want to insert some code. I click on the ‘+’ sign and select ‘Uranov Syntax Highlighter’ block. I only get a small blue line across the document, as shown in the linked screenshot. When I view the page in the code editor, I see the following:

However, if instead of selecting the highlighter block using the ‘+’ icon, I select it using the drop-down menu at the top, then I get the code input block and I can copy/paste code into it and save (as shown here). However, it doesn’t display correctly – it is just all jammed up together, with no highlighting or formatting as shown here.

What am I doing wrong here?
