Code Markup

I wanted to write a snippet of code in a note, and the markup for that doesn’t seem to work. The formatting of the code comes out on one line, instead of the indented, multi-line stuff I typed in.

I tried the three ways I know in markdown to do code
– at least 4 spaces preceding each line
– 3 tildas
– 3 backticks

None worked.
