• Unlike other image slider plugins, this plugin does not handle images that are of the wrong dimensions and left me with my slider images overlapping other content on my page.

I prefer the Meta Slider plugin, but (like this plugin) Meta Slider also creates invalid HTML5 code.

  • Edit, sorry, ignore this. I thought this review was posted on the Meta Slider plugin as I got an email notification for it.

To note – with the paid version of the plugin, there are addons that will dynamically crop to the size you specify. I chose not to include that in the lite version because it adds overhead to the plugin.

As with invalid code, this is done for speed. Loading the CSS stylesheet outside of the <head> allows me to ensure that scripts and styles are only loaded on pages where a slider is present, unlike 99% of all other plugins that load their junk on every page on your site, no matter if a slider is present or not.

Would you consider changing the 1-star rating now that I have explained my stance? Thanks!

I have made many updates to the plugin with the release of version 2, including the ability to crop from right within the plugin itself. Would you kindly reconsider your 1-star review after re-evaluating the plugin? I would also love to help out in any way I can to make your experience better with Soliloquy! Thanks!
