Code for listing title of archives sections?

  • Dumb people like me abuse this forum, I’m sure. Ah well, here we go:

    OK, so everything is peachy on https://dearcrissy.com, except that when you view my archives or archives by category, it just shows the list of entries and no title above them like “Archives for June” or “Archives for City Girl” (in the case of categories.)

    can anyone impart this nugget of wisdom to me as to how I might append those relevant titles to my archives lists?

    I use this:
    https://mtdewvirus.com/code/mdv-archive/

    You could try something like
    <div class="something">Your are currently browsing the archive of <?php wp_title(); ?></div> in your archive.php file, where you want it to appear.

    I really like the idea behind that method, but it is a little heavy for what I want. I’m really happy with my archives as they are, just want the titles of the types of archives to show up.
