Code for html footer.php to add a privacy policy download

    Hello, I am using WP 3.2.1 with the theme attention, I have just edited the html code for the footer.php file and uploaded it to the server.

    In the footer of every page I want a link to download our privacy policy. So I added the PP document into my download manager on the site, and then added the [download#14] code within, corresponding to the document download. But it didnt work the way I had hoped! I am new at this and don’t know much of anything about writing html. Is there a code that I can add around the download that would make it available?

    Ok I figured it out. I just needed to add this bit of code instead of the [download#14] reference. Here it is in case anyone who wants to do the same, needs it:

    So for my example we have our Privacy Policy as a download, remember I have already downloaded the pdf document to the document manager area of my site.

    If you want to change the color, just add a different hex #.

    I think thats it! It worked for me.

    I went to appearance/editor then saw footer in sidebar…I’m terrified of ‘crashing’ site after reading what it says in ‘help’ section. I need a privacy policy, know very little technically, and can’t figure out how to install this so that the privacy policy will appear somewhere on contact page…help..thank you!
