Hi guys, I know very little about the back end stuff on my blog but I have code appearing all over my blog (in fact, my blog has now shut down and it’s JUST showing code)

    my blog is https://www.chasingcait.com

The guys that created the theme suggested that I re-install, which i can’t do now as I can’t even log in. it’s saying that I need to enable cookies (which I have already done)

    Any suggestions?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

Hi Esmi – thanks for that – the problem is I know NOTHING about how to get into my ftp folders etc. I just work off my wordpress dashboard which I can currently cannot access…..

If you know nothing about FTP, do some reading up. It’s really simple, just like using a file manager on your home machine. Then, grab your FTP login/password from your web hosts and go fix that website.

Alternatively, it’s time to pay someone: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

all sorted! Thanks guys – it was an old version of a theme that had corrupted my blog. I got the ftp login details from my server host and replaced the old theme folder with the new one and it’s all good!!!
