    Hello,

I recently discovered my code embed on my website here is not working in Google Chrome incognito mode. Why would that be?

    Thanks,
    Jake

    Hi @jacobunderwood,

I’ve just tried it myself and it appears to work fine. What’s the issue when using Incognito?

    Hi David,

I had 3 others in my company try it out, and it worked for them.

I just see the code %CODEx% as ther other %CODE% for both the map and contact form. It must be an extension I had activated in Chrome. Because when I deactivated all my extensions, and cleared my cache, I could see them.

Any easy way to see which extension might be doing this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jake,

I’d be surprised if an extension caused it but have you tried re-activating them sense to see if the issue returns? If not, activate one at a time to see when it does. My money is on the issue not occurring again.

    Hi David,

Thanks for the help. I activated a few extensions I actually use and everything is working fine. very weird.

    Thanks

Indeed. If the %CODE1% appears in the body then that would suggest the plugin wasn’t active. Maybe you had a cache of a time during an update (I did push one out recently), for example.

I actually found the problem. When I log into my WordPress back-end dashboard, that’s when in Incognito mode I can’t see my embedded contact form or Google maps on this page https://www.medcor.com/contact

    Why would that be?

What do you mean by “back-end dashboard”?

When I log into the Admin Dashboard at https://www.medcor.com/wp-login.php (the back-end) and when I am logged in, it causes the code embed plugin to not render my code correctly in Google Incognito mode. That’s the only browser I can tell that this happens to as of now.I have the most recent browser version of IE, FireFox, Chrome and Safari.

    Thanks,
    Jake

    Thanks for confirming that.

When you’re signing into your site’s WP Admin, are you doing that in Incognito mode, or just viewing the site that way?

Yes, I am signing into WP Admin in Incognito Mode. Then I go view the site and my code embed isn’t rendering correctly. When I am not signed into WP Admin in Incognito, it is fine.

Ok. I’ve tried recreating this but I’m unable to. There’s no reason why Incognito should suppress this, as if you’re seeing the tag in the output then this means my plugin has been unable to find the tag to replace it. Or my plugin wasn’t working at all.

The fact that it’s that browser would suggest a browser issue (unlikely as this is to do with the back-end, which the browser won’t know anything about) or some add-on. To be honest, neither should affect it, so it just a bizarre mystery.

If you want a temp login to test it on my site, I can get you setup with credentials. Just let me know your personal email, as I don’t want to post credentials in this thread. It is beyond bizarre to me also.

To be honest, I don’t mind that this is happening, just as long as my users on my site are able to see the contact form and contact us when needed. When the contact form starts to not show or doesn’t function properly, that’s when it becomes an issue to me, because if we loss a sale because of this, it could be devastating.

Let me know if you’re trying to check this issue out. Very strange. Still happening.

Did you rule out any of your extensions causing this @jacobunderwood?
