I updated my plug-ins and themes and now my website is displaying code on the front end of the site. One option is to contact the plug-in developers directly, but the easier option is to restore my site. Can you please help me restore my website to a point before I updated the web features? Is it possible to restore the site to what it was on October 9, 2017?

Any help you can provide is appreciated.

  • Hi @eelund,

It looks like that the Fusion Core & Fusion Builder are acting weirdly after the update. Remove those plugins and add them again. This should fix the problem and restoring the site to previous point won’t be required.

To remove plugins go to Plugins & Delete Fusion Core & Fusion Builder.

To install plugins, refresh the page. You should get a notification to install required plugins. Click on Begin Installing Required Plugins and install the two plugins.

Before you do that make sure you backup the latest version of your website data by going to Tools -> Export.

    Hope this helps.

I exported the latest version of the site, and then I removed the Fusion Builder and Fusion Core plug-ins. I re-installed them and unfortunately, nothing changed on the front end of the website. I am trying to contact the theme’s support team, but I do not have the ThemeForest Purchase Code required to create an account. Do you have any additional recommendations? Also, since I exported the latest version of the site with the errors, does that mean we can only restore the site to this now “bad” latest version?

I don’t think you are stuck with the bad latest version. I was reading about the problem with Fusion Builder after the update on https://theme-fusion.com/forums/topic/fusion-builder-is-not-working-anymore-since-updating-to-avada-5-0-6/

They suggest you to do following (Noting here for your ease) :

This could be due to short code conversion not running on your site. You would need to run the conversion from Dashboard — Avada —System Status and click on the Run conversion button.

Please backup your site before you do so.

Please try to take the backup again which should be without errors to be on the safe end.

    Hope this helps ??

Is not the correct answer that the OP should be asking at the support they paid for when they procured the Commercial Product(s) in question?

Is not this forum for support of WP Core, Themes and Plugins listed here only?

For support of commercial themes or plugins, go to the official support channel.

In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why a commercial theme or plugin is not working properly.

Ultimately, the vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

I found someone who was able to help me resolve my problem. The issue was that the Avada update required some Fusion Builder core updates that needed to be done by running their script, which was hidden away in the documentation. I need to make sure that the next time Avada needs to be updated to read any notes or alerts that maybe attached to the update.
