Coauthor guest post url not working

A great plugin, but I have a question. How do you make sure that of the guest coauthors has a link which brings you to the author posts? This command is not working:
get_author_posts_url($coauthor->ID,$coauthor->user_nicename), because it only links to ‘mywebsite.com/author’
