Co-authors editing post-publishing

I run a few schools sites where each year group page or class page is assigned to a specific member of staff to edit. Occasionally, the page needs to be edited by more than one member of staff. How might I go about setting up the site so I can assign more than one author to some pages? I suppose they are co-authors but both would need to make page edits post-publishing probably.
