    Hi,

After running a Scanner, I receive a message that I need to obtain consent for Cloudflare and there is a link to “Pro” service setup.
However I can’t think of any reference to Cloudflare on our site. We are hosted at WP Engine and use no CDN or plugins that use Cloudflare.
I have also manually searched page source and browser inspector for this.
Do you any idea what could trigger this?
Is there somewhere I could send the URL private if you need to take a look?

    Thanks!

I actually had one more thing I wanted to ask. I’m trying to find a way to edit the different texts/messages. I need to display them in Swedish (“Privacy preferences” popup for instance), …I only need 1 language: Swedish (not multilanguage) do I need another plugin for this?

    Thanks!

    Hey @aggk !

    Thanks for your message.

When I check out https://wpengine.com/solution-center/cloudflare/ I can see that WP Engine is using Cloudflare in front of your website:

Cloudflare is a service that sits in front of WP Engine and can help you even further optimize your site for speed and security. Plans range from free to enterprise and offer a variety of speed and security boosting benefits

    To your other question:

I’m trying to find a way to edit the different texts/messages. I need to display them in Swedish (“Privacy preferences” popup for instance), …I only need 1 language

You can customize all texts in Real Cookie Banner:

    – Cookies > Services (Cookies) / Content Blocker > “Edit”
    – Customizer > Cookie Banner > Texts

    Thank you for your reply!

Great, I see how I can replace those text now!

Very strange with the the Cloudflare prompt. Cloudflare is an add-on at WP engine which we do not have. I was also just in contact with their support who confirmed that we have no reference to Cloudflare at our site.
Do you have any idea what could have triggered that message otherwise?

    Thanks!

    Hi again @aggk !

Cloudflare is recommended as soon the Server Header HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP is set (isset($_SERVER['HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP']) && !empty($_SERVER['HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP'])). Can you please forward this to the WP Engine support?

    Thank you Matthias,

I will forward that but could you please explain a little what that means
…why we need consent? is it considered “essential service”?

    Thanks!

    Hi again!

Cloudflare is recommended as service because Real Cookie Banner detected usage of Cloudflare. Cloudflare is currently assigned to essential, as it is technically necessary when in use and cannot be deactivated based on consent: Cloudflare protects websites from malicious traffic and stores parts of the website in the cache for faster delivery. Cloudflare can also deliver a cached version of the website if the server of the website is unavailable. The cookies are used to uniquely identify the user and classify him or her as a potential attacker and to determine the fastest available server.

    Matthew ??
