• Have been running Wordfence for a while now and it works very well. I highly recommend it.

I started having 503 errors appearing for site visitors when I had enabled Cloudflare for my site. It was telling the visitors they were blocked as being suspected fake google crawler. I even had it happen to me checking the site from one of the devices I use. This never happened before until Cloudflare was enabled.

I read a small section in a support area that didn’t really answer much.

Does anyone know how Cloudflare and Wordfence should be setup/config to play nice together and avoid this false positive 503 error for site visitors?

    Thanks.

    S.

  • Do you have the cloudflare plugin installed? Are you seeing correct ip addresses in live traffic? Can you uncheck the block fake google crawlers option on the options page and see if that helps?
