I’m now on Cloudflare free (and also have Nginx in front of Apache, and WP Fastest Cache). Do I need any page rule at CF like the one below to make Optimole device resizing, webp conversion, etc, work correctly with their Edge cache, and/or anything else that should be tweaked along the chain? Thanks.

    *domain.com/*.jpg
    Cache Level: Bypass

  • Hello,

It should not be required to do anything for the images to get processed.
Just make sure you don’t block access to them and that they are publicly available.

You can read about common issues that you might encounter here: https://docs.optimole.com/article/1086-why-optimole-does-not-optimize-all-the-images-from-my-site

If you require any help or have more questions we are here for you.
    Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. I’ve deleted the page rule bypassing the jpg’s, following your advice.

But the relevant part of the article mentioned also says:

Do you have CDN setup already on your site, for the images? If so, make sure to whitelist the CDN address in your dashboard by going to the Whitelist page.

Does it mean I shall whitelist Optimole in CF, to be on the safe side? The option for this in CF says:

    IP Access Rules
IP Access Rules can be based on IP address, IP address range, Autonomous System Number (ASN) or country.

The only useful alternative here seems to be the ASN. What’s the Optimole ASN?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

You should whitelist requests with User Agent: Optimole (1.0) if there is any risk of blocking access to images from the CDN.

Other than that you should not be required to do any custom configuration.
If you encounter any issues feel free to contact us directly at https://optimole.com/#contact and we will help you out.

    Thank you!
