I’m using Taxopress with my www.remarpro.com website. I have noticed some of my terms are not showing up in my tag cloud. I have checked the max number of items and it should be OK. Any advice?

    Hi @melaniewhite9

Thanks for using TaxoPress. We’d need more specific details, please. What terms are missing? Is there anything that connects them? etc.

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply. It appears to be terms that are used only once or twice. Other than that, I can’t see any difference from other terms that show up in the cloud. When I look at my pages summary on my dashboard, they all show up in my list of tags. If you can look at my page, for example, I am using a tag called An Rath, which does not appear in the cloud but is used on one of the pages. What other specific information can I check? Thank you!

    Hi @melaniewhite9

There is a “Maximum terms to display” option inside the “Design” tab.

There are also ways to restrict which terms show inside the “Choose Terms” tab.

Hi Steve, I have my maximum number set at 300. I have about 85 tags and only around 50 are showing in the tag cloud.

In the Choose Terms tab, I have no timeframe limits, method for choosing terms from the database is “name” and method for choosing terms to display is “name”.

I am having this exact issue. I am using the free version. My max number of tags to show is 100; I have 70ish. Only about 40 show in the tag cloud. Tags that seem not to show seem to be applied to only 1 or 2 posts.
Here are the settings I am working with.

      Manage Terms Display

Limit Terms Based on Time: No limits
    Method for choosing terms: Name
    Ordering for choosing terms: Ascending
Method for choosing terms for display: Name
Ordering for choosing terms for display: Ascending

Hide Title in Output: not checked
Hide Display Output if no terms: not checked
    Max terms to display 100
    Font size minimum 11
    Font size Max 15
    Unit font size: point
    Enable colors: not checked

@karen-labonte @melaniewhite9 Does the problem go away if you change to the List display format, instead of the Cloud display format?

When I change it to List display, it continues to be shown as a cloud. I’ve cleared my cache numerous times and have tried this is two different browsers, with the same result.

Also it looks like when a term is used more than once or twice, it starts to appear in the cloud.

When I change to List display, it continues to appear as a cloud.

    Hi @karen-labonte @melaniewhite9

These are two problems we’ve not had reported before:

    1. The inability to use a list display.
    2. Some terms not showing.

If you can pinpoint the issue, we can try and find a fix. To pinpoint the issue, try a second test site. Do you see the same problems? Check the differences between your test site and live site.

There’s no difference from test site to live site. List view doesn’t show; all tags don’t show.

I feel like I *am* pinpointing the issues. Not sure what other info you need.

Are you getting reports of this from paying users?

    (@stevejburge)

    hi @karen-labonte

No, this is the first report (or two) we’ve had.

With 70,000+ users, these issues tend to get reported quickly.

This may be a PHP version issue, a plugin conflict, or maybe a server issue. It needs some careful debugging of your site.

I deactivated all of my plug-ins and the problem persisted. I tried using two other themes with the same result. Can you suggest what other possibilities I might try?

I’d also appreciate knowing if there any other things I can try, @stevejburge.

    Thanks in advance.

@stevejburge In exploring other posts, I found one that may be related, which you posted to Github https://github.com/TaxoPress/TaxoPress/issues/1390. Could these issues be related?

@karen-labonte That’s possible. You’re welcome to add more feedback on that issue.

I’m closing this for now in favor of that detailed bug report.
