Closing p at the end

Checking the page containing WP Links Page version 4.6.1 with the W3C validator there is an error reported:
No p element in scope but a p end tag seen.<div style="clear:both;"></div></p> </div><!-- .entry-content -->

Turns out I was using the shortcode in a normal text block. If correctly placing it in a shortcode block the plugins wplf_remove_autop works correctly.
