    Checking the page containing WP Links Page version 4.6.1 with the W3C validator there is an error reported:
    No p element in scope but a p end tag seen.

    Turns out I was using the shortcode in a normal text block. If correctly placing it in a shortcode block the plugins wplf_remove_autop works correctly.
