• Forgive me if I sound frazzled, but I am really frustrated at the moment because for the past three days I have been trying to fix this issue without any luck. I have read and re-read articles and posts and suggestions on bugs with closed comments and pingbacks in WordPress. This is not my first rodeo with WordPress so I understand how the comments and pingbacks work and I have checked and unchecked EVERYTHING that has to do with comments and pingbacks (in every part of wordpress from the individual post itself to the settings) and they are still NOT working. Let me explain:

    (1) When I create a post, there is NO comment section. I have everything checked and it still does not show up. The only way to make a comment area appear is through QUICK EDIT > uncheck > update then go back and check the boxes again and > update.

    (2) Pingbacks are NOT working whatsoever. I have done several pingbacks to my other articles and connected friend’s blogs and they still don’t show up.

Any assistance would be appreciated PLEASE!

    Thank you!

    Kat

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for your response. I did disable all plugins and reverted back to the default theme Twenty AND created a new post with a pingback and still no luck! =(

I had responded twice and it’s not showing up.
