Closed admin account still getting confirmation emails

  • I recently had a client remove my admin account from a WordPress site but I still receive emails every time a comment on that site is received and is pending approval. The account is definitely closed as I can no longer login, but I still receive these confirmation emails from the site. Any idea what might cause this? Is it because my email address was used during the install? Can this be removed completely?

  • I’m thinking it’s probably because it’s the email used to install WordPress. Do you still have access to the site’s database? You could do a search on your email and replace them with your client’s email address. Also have a look at the users table to see if your user instance is really deleted.
