(Close to) One Year Ago

  • I’m currently using the One Year Ago plugin on my site to add a sidebar link to whatever post(s) I published five years ago. It works like a charm, except for one thing — if there was no post *exactly* five years ago (as there usually isn’t on Saturday and Sunday, and sometimes other days, too), nothing at all appears under the “Five Years Ago” subhead. What I’d really like would be, if there was no post five years ago, for the plugin to fetch the most recent post before that date. Does anyone know of a OYA hack — or a separate plugin — that could make that work?

  • Did you talk to the plugin developer about that? That would probably be best.

    I would like that too

    Some time ago, under WP 1.5, Kaf showed me a Query on here that did exactly that. I used it for a while but it broke, under WP 2.0.x I believe. I haven’t figured out how to fix it yet.
