Cloned Site: Unable to change Suit Themes

I am a relative newbie here. I cloned a site (to retain all the installed plugins, admins, etc).

I’m unable to customise anything which must be changed through the “manage with live preview” option – eg change the colours, on the new site. Eg I hit the “save & publish” button and nothing happens – it remains “blue”. Is there some code I need to change to ensure the clone site is permissioned properly?

NB: I can change the widgets and menus via the other access.
