• Hello,

I tried to clone our website for update-test. But the cloned version don’t work.

I compared the original website and the cloned website by diff. I noticed that a lot of files are stored incorrectly. The files are in folders with the extension …Tar.php instead of in the folder of the same name without this extension. I have loads of additional …Tar.php folders.

For example, there is a folder with the name “language” and the additional folder “languageTar.php” in which the files that should actually be in “language” are located.

It affects almost all plugins, but not every single folder in it and also the themes folder. The other WordPress folders seem to be ok.

There must be an error when unpacking.

    What is the problem?

    I use as source-Installation
    WordPress 5.6.1
    PHP 7.4.33
    XCloner 4.6.4

    Info:

i have now simply created a manual copy of the website and have only transferred the database backup with XCloner.

Here now the next problem has shown up. I use the Divi theme on the website and the Divi settings from the backup are also not transferred back correctly. The database entry et_divi in the options table is significantly shortened.

I had to manually reinsert the INSERT-statement for the record from the SQL backup file to get everything working again.

I have been using XCloner for years on several websites and i am just very disappointed that the restore is not working at all.
