clone is incomplete – maybe because 3.6?

    i’ve used duplicator multiple times successful and with great pleasure.
    now, some weeks later, and after updating to 3.6, i deployed my active site on my development domain but it doesn’t do an exact clone. instead it shows multiple issues
    with umlauts and displays bad characters. also lots of settings are missing, e.g. logo, images and texts of the starting page and so on.
    a completely created a new database and a fresh directory but it still doesn’t do the fine cloning as before. ok, it’s a longer time ago since i lately did a clone, so maybe it also has been an issue before 3.6. the faq didn’t helped me. any idea how to fix it?

  • Are you using the latest plugin version? It sounds like it might be a database character encoding issue which can be very difficult to fix, if you want to submit a support ticket I can look at your particular case a bit closer…

    hi,
    after spending so much time yesterday and this night, i fixed it now by completely removing the entire database as well as all directories in my webspace. then i started from scratch and now it works.

    i have no idea what’s the cause of the issue. and of course, i always use the latest WP and plugin version.
    so i hink the best is to close this call now and beg it hopefully has been an exception which never will happen again ??
