• I’ve used WP Clone numerous times
    with great success…

I have a custom site that needs to be
updated and I wanted to clone/copy/back it up
    before updating to WP 4

I installed WP Clone and clicked
“Create Backup”… I received the notice
that it may take some time….

I left/returned and the WP Clone screen is
blank…. when I refreshed the page, there
    was no link or backup????

    Suggestions, please….

    thanks Karen

    finally….first time I’ve been
    presented with an error code:

The plugin encountered an error during the
database backup, the following error message was
    returned:

Error Message : MySQL server has gone away

Temporary files created in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxx411.com/wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/wpclone_backup will be deleted.

I’m getting 500 server errors or some other error whenever trying WP Clone backups. This is on a GoDaddy hosting plan if that makes a difference along with Bridge/Qoda theme and WP 4.0. I’ve tried several times yesterday and today. Any help out there?

I kept getting these errors, or just nothing. I deleted all the plugins that were turned off – that helped at least get through that blank screen to the MySQL error. Then i cleaned up some more, and deleted plugins that werent necessary, and viola! backup in like 12 seconds, no errors, and saved 30mb.

Try cleaning up your plugins and see what happens.
