    Jetpack “Subcriptions” is showing affiliate link cloaking plugin’s (EAL) “code” in the blog subscriber’s new post email. Here’s what it looks like.

    “I just completed two (2) Learn It Anytime courses. I was very pleased with the experience and results. I’ll get into more detail on why next. First let me tell you a little about Learn It. [eafl id=8798 name=”Learn It Anytime” text=”Learn It Anytime”] offers more than 124 self-paced online software training courses (250 modules) within […]

    I just added this affiliate link cloaking plugin before publishing this post/article.

    Is there a setting or something in Jetpack Subscriptions to prevent this?

    FYI: I have already started a tread with the plugin (EAL) author.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    That’s indeed a known issue, and something we’ll work on fixing in a future release. You can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/869

    In the meantime, there are 2 alternatives to work around the issue:

    1. If you go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard, you can change your Feed Settings to “Summary”. Once you save your changes, all subscription emails will only include an excerpt of your post, with a link to continue reading on the site. You can set a custom excerpt thanks to the excerpt box below the editor.
    2. If your Feed settings are set to “Full Post”, you can split the content of each one of your blog posts in 2 parts thanks to the More tag:
      <!--more-->

      Everything that is above the More tag will appear on your home page and in the subscription emails, followed by a link inviting users to click to continue reading; everything that is below that tag will only appear on the post’s page. You could consequently place your shortcodes below that tag.

      You can read more about it here:
      https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you, Jeremy!
    That does help.
    The EAL plugin author referred me to that thread too. And what’s there works for me.
    I know you folks are always fine tuning. That’s why I use Jetpack and WordPress. ??
