• Excuse my ignorance here but we are working with a web designer to create a wordpress website. We’d like to utilize a premium theme, such as Headway, but are confused as to whether we’d be able to have access to the theme and control of the site after he has completed his work. Is this possible? Thanks!

  • Yes. You would need to figure out the specifics of the relationship with your designer.

But by paying for your site, you would be paying for the hosting, I would assume, along with the technical expertise of your designer.

When the designer is all finished, you should have full access to the hosting (via ftp) and also be an admin on the WP install. Which would give you full access to everything

Thanks for the quick response, Rev. Voodoo. I think that makes sense. Yes, we are paying for the hosting. Do we download the theme to our wordpress and then allow him access or visa versa?

    Either works.

If you are paying your developer to set everything up, you can just DL it and get him/her the files

Or you can install it and set your dev loose

It’s really up to however the 2 of you want the flow to work
