Does the site kit only show up for the person whose google account it is connected to? I installed this on a clients site and I can see all the stats. But my client says when they login and try to see the dashboard is asked them connect to their google account.

Is this how it is suppose to work? If so, then that is sorta worthless.

I am assuming all WP admins can see the dashboard. Yes? Why would my client not be able to see the dashboard but instead be asked to login?

Hi @aksteve thanks for getting in touch. Currently this is the expected behaviour. If the client wishes to view the data then you will need to grant them access to that Google account for the modules connected for example Analytics.

Once you’ve given them the permissions the user can set up Site Kit themselves using their Google account and pick the account you granted them access to. The data will then display in the Site Kit dashboard for them.

We are currently working on a dashboard sharing feature which is due to release soon.

This will allow administrators to enable the dashboard to be visible to select user roles in a read-only context. Admins who “own” the connection configuration of a module in Site Kit will then be able to enable access to that module’s data on the dashboard to users with roles that have been allowed to view it.

Please do keep an eye out on the next few releases for this and feel free to ask us any questions here about the feature once it has been released.

Oh, I just assumed everyone could see it. You know, like Monster and ExactMetrics and most all other plugins.

This is a big draw back and I am going to have to stop using your plugin now. As the whole point was for my clients to easily see their analytics. And giving them permissions is not easy. I mean yes, of course it is super easy, but for clients, this is just more steps. And they don’t want more steps, more accounts and more logins.

Bummer. I hope your dashboard can be seen by everyone soon. I guess I will keep an eye out for the release. Thanks for the quick reply.

@aksteve No problem at all and sorry to hear that and we hope you will try out Site Kit once more once the dashboard sharing is introduced in the coming months. As mentioned you can grant your clients with access permissions in the meantime and I would suggest to keep an eye out for dashboard sharing when that is released.

Are there any further questions you have or anything else I can help you with?

Nope. Thanks much. Looking forward to the new sharing permissions.
