I started the process of adding WooCommerce Payments to my client’s new site and see that a mobile phone is required. My client doesn’t have a mobile phone and my cell signal is so weak that my mobile phone is useless unless I am out and about.

Is there another way to get verified?

    Hi @lbohen

I have heard back from the developers of the WC Pay plugin, and they have confirmed that a phone number is required for creating a WC Pay account.

For clarification, we will be updating the documentation to reflect this requirement to verify the account.

    Amanda; Thanks for checking.

It’s NOT just that a phone number that is the issue. It’s because a MOBILE phone is required. Not everyone has a mobile number. I know of other online services that require verification and have verification modes that also allow a landline and/or email address.

    Hi @lbohen

To follow up here, a mobile phone isn’t required. It’s possible to purchase an SMS capable virtual phone number from Twilio or similar services and use that number.

In the past there have been services that offer numbers exclusively to convert SMS to email also.
