I ran a scan yesterday and WF flagged differences in my index file.

It said I could click a link to “See how the file has changed” however, clicking that link and trying to view the file changes triggered my AV and it blocked that page, so I could never see the file changes.

I allowed WF to restore the original index.php file and that fixed my problem, I’m still curious, however, as to the exact changes made to the index file. I’m still trying to diagnose and understand what happened.

How can I go back and review WordFence items from earlier scans? I want to “See how the file has changed” for my index.php from my initial WF scan.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,
Since the original copy of that file has been restored, I’m afraid there is no way to get it back before the restore process unless your hosting provider supports daily backups, that’s where you can find the old copy of that file.

    Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. Perhaps a future enhancement might to be storing all scans, and output in case the user wishes to review an earlier scan?

Take care, love Wordfence, it’s amazing!
