Clicking on the superscript number takes the user to bottom of page

This isn’t the usual behaviour. Can you provide a link to a page where you’re experiencing it?

Clicking on superscript number 2 (for example) should take me to the footnote #2. Not somewhere at the bottom.

Okay, it looks as if it is going to the right place but your fixed header is covering the first few footnotes.

Without diving into your code, it’s a tricky one. This plugin is doing the correct thing and scrolling the screen down to the correct position here but because of the header overlay the current position is incorrect.

In JavaScript you may want to find some way to intercept these sub-anchors and push the screen further down. It’s not something I’ve tried myself, to be honest, and I’m not sure if it’s possible.
