I have activated the ‘moderator’ email feature of BBP Style Pack, so that the forum moderator receives a notification email each time a new forum post is added.

However, I’ve been advised that when the moderator clicks on the link inside the notification email then the browser is showing a 404 error.

    The email link is https://www.cambrian-mountains.co.uk/?post_type=topic&p=9620

The problem only occurs when the user is not already logged into the site.

    Any suggestions?

The problem is related to the Ultimate Member authentication functionality..

All of our semi static member only content (pages/posts) uses the Ultimate Member ‘content restrictions’ settings to redirect a user to the login page.

All of our bbPress forums are ‘private’ and can only be viewed by authenticated members.

The dynamic nature of forum topic postings means that it is not possible to assign the Ultimate Member content restrictions. What I really need is a way to auto assign the Ultimate Member content restriction settings once a bbPress post is created.

    Any suggestions?

    on your first post :

    dashboard>settings>bbp style pack>Subscriptions Email>item 2

that may fix your second problem too, I am not sure

Thank you for the feedback, but its not that. This is really about having a redirect for the topic display page when the page user is not authenticated

If you update to 5.9.1, then in

Dashboard>settings>forums under the moderation section you can set up so that the link goes via a login if they are not logged in. If ultimate member allows login redirect, then this should work via a login page. If not you can either use wp-login (since these are moderators they should be fine seeing this) or set up a bbpress login page.
