• Hi,

When I’m editing a WordPress post using the old Internet Explorer browser, I can edit the image by clicking on it. Once I’ve done that, I can adjust the size, caption, etc.

This doesn’t work for me when using the Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers, however. When I click on an image, nothing happens.

It’s important that I begin using Chrome or Microsoft Edge, because Internet Explore is unsafe.

What do I need to do to fix this?

    Thank you.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Thank you for the advice, James. I’d like to try the Twenty Twenty approach. But will disabling the plugins and changing the theme risk destroying my website? Here is the site, by the way:

No, just follow the steps above using the Health Check plugin.

I take that back, the site you listed isn’t even a WordPress site, so none of that will help you.

Did you list the wrong site?

this is the one. it is a wordpress site:

i’m skipping the health check plugin because some reviewers said it destroyed their websites, and i’m not that confident in my skills!

Health Check will work if you use it properly, you’ll note that any of the negative reviews are either very old or user error.

Either way through, proceed as desired.
