Clicking member profile (not visible for everybody) redirects to homepage

Clicking member profile (not visible for everybody) redirects to homepage. I would prefer a page or error message that mentions “This profile is private” or something like that.

Now when you click a profile that is visible in the member list (but the profile itself is not visible for everybody) you are redirected to the homepage and it is not clear why or what happened. How can I solve this?
