Click Tracking — searching for the right plugin (or mod)

I’m trying to find a way to post a short list of most popular posts within a 48 hour window. I also would like to add a postviews / click through number after posts. I tried Lester Chan’s wp-postviews plugin but I couldn’t limit the timespan of popular posts.

I know it’s possible and have seen it employed in the past (Tampa BLAB by way of Archive.org’s “Wayback Machine” ) but I don’t know what avenue to explore to do it in the present.
