Seing a wordcaptch simply means that the google engine can not positively verify that you are a human, and so it will force you to the manual verification method.
I have no reliable information on how exactly google is doing the automatic bot detection (and I guess google will remain silent on that topic), but from my personal experience I can say that in a private browser tab a word captcha is more likely to appear than in a regular one. Being logged in to your Google account all the time might also be relevant.

Just installed this plugin. Same problem…..”word” capthca pops up every time with the new check mark catpthca. I would like to find out if this is working for anyone before I accept that it is Google’s bot detection causing it. I tried different information in the forms, different email accounts, comment form vs. Contact Form 7, etc., but can never get the simple check mark to work.

Logged in to my Google account all the time and made no difference.
Very annoying looking for an alternative now.

Did you mark this thread as resolved or was that the plugin author? I will give it a little while longer before I also move on, as everything else is working properly.

I did its not a plugin problem it is a Google problem check out googles forum on the subject everyone’s having the same problem. I myself am going to go with something else. and since it was my thread Yes I did mark it as resolved since the plugin author can’t do anything about it.

Thanks for the information….I figured something was up.

I finally got it to work today with just checking “I’m not a robot”, even with am email address I had not tested before. As others have suggested, either there was a problem on Google’s end, it has something to do with the number of times you try, or it takes time for Google’s algorithm to kick in. As far as the plugin itself, it works flawlessly on both my Contact Form 7 and WordPress comments form.
