• Hey all,

I’ve posted this topic in other forums, but no answers yet. I need to be able to track and display the number of clicks a link receives on my wp theme.

I already know about wp-click-tracker, and counterize ii, etc. and they both work great! But I can’t get them to work work the way I want.

Essentially what I need is a link with a number displayed next to it. Once that link is clicked, that number goes up by 1. Simple, right? Help, ideas, thoughts.

    Cheers,

    – JH

Okay, I found this, but it only watches out for total clicks on a page. Trying to figure out how to tailor it for my needs.

    PS
Check out the comment the guy left me. Seriously?

    Yes, seriously.

Everything on my blog is free, as in “free beer” and “free speech.” You can modify it any way you like. That you lack the skill to do so yourself is your problem: one I’m still willing to help you with, in spite of your arrogance.

I’ve offered to make your requested modification for free, and to do it quickly for pay. If you don’t want to pay, then fine. I’m busy with other things right now, including two other requests for code modification, holiday company, my friends, TV … things I want to do, that are all far more important to me than catering to you for free.

If you want to move to the front of the queue, make a wish list purchase; most items on my list cost all of $20. Otherwise, I’ll get to you when I get to you.

Unless you work for free, perhaps you should save your indignation.

Hey man, I’m broke just like everyone else. Could’t even afford a merry Christmas for myself. I appreciate that you were really the only person that got back to me. I’ve been looking into this for weeks now, so the fact that you’re willing to help is awesome. I can’t even get any attention from the authors of those two plugins. I Just thought it was funny that you were soliciting for your Amazon wish list.

So I don’t know what to find more arrogant. The fact I thought it was funny, or that you’re soliciting fees from your blog…which is designed to help people. Unless I”m mistaken and your time is actually that valuable. If that’s the case I’m willing to wait, and thanks all the same.

    Cheers,

    – JH
