    Hi there,

Our website database is heavily overloaded by session data from woocommerce plugin ->https://prnt.sc/u-qE5QAawx6H

Our hosting provider advised us to clear all sessions via WooCommerce >> Status >> Tools >> Clear customer sessions

When clearing all customer sessions under the button ( see the attachment nr1- https://freeimage.host/i/Hnwf0qG) it says that all customer session data will be erased from the database- does this mean we will lose all pageview/ baskets/ checkout data from our analytics?

    Thanks for your help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I am not an expert on this. With which tool you check your analytics?

From the screenshot you provided, all your customers will lose there carts. If you use analytics on this carts, this could get lost too, as the analytic would report empty cart – but this should be tested manually too see.

Already made checkout (placed orders) should already be stored in the analytics, so the checkouts should not be lost in Analytics based on clearing the session / cart data.

*WARNING* I am not an expert on this, just letting you know my point of view.

    Hi @4familyes

    Thanks for reaching out!

Firstly, I apologize for the delayed response.

Under WooCommerce > Status > Tools, there is an option for “Clear customer sessions. This tool will delete all customer session data from the database, including any current live carts.

I did some research and found this article could be a good starting point: Too large wp_woocommerce_sessions in Database [How-To Fix]

    Hope this helps!
